Megan took a million photos on our recent family trip to Ireland/Germany/Austria (well, over 4,000 anyway) and dad took a bunch more, so it’s impossible to sort through them all to pick out the best of the best all at once. Instead, I’ll pick out one or two each day and post it here. Given the title of this first post, I felt it was appropriate to start with the Glockenspiel in Munich, Germany!

We waited ten minutes after the chimes struck 12 noon before it started moving. Â We almost left, thinking the huge crowd of people staring up at the clock tower were just crazy!

Remember when we were kids and all the cool toys were powered by light bulbs? Take the Light Bright, for example… I could have played with that thing forever!!
While strolling through a thrift store the other day I came across this little gem; the Easy Bake oven. It brought me back to a simpler time. A time when Megan and I would sit around the kitchen table for hours waiting for a single-serving brownie to turn into a somewhat-warm “solid” state. Then eat it with spoons because our definition of “baked” was rather lenient after waiting so long. I wonder if these things are still as popular as they once were, especially given our current obsession with CFLs as a means of reducing carbon emissions…

When I read on the box, “Now with 1/3 the calories!!” I didn’t realize this is what they meant!!
I mean, I know it’s a veggie burger and is meant to be healthier… But, really??

Oh, WaMu, I still miss you so much it hurts!
Today I was dismayed to find a letter from Chase, accompanied by a new debit card to replace my old WaMu card. Now I have three nearly identical blue cards in my wallet – so ugly and vulgar. And it came too soon – my old card still had a year on it before expiration! What really killed me, though, was the scene from Old Yeller where I had to take my poor old golden debit card out back and put it through the shredder. I’m going to cry myself to sleep tonight.
