A Meal to Remember

There were many delicious meals throughout our trip, but one of my favorites was our dinner at the Dromoland Castle’s Earl of Thomond restaurant.  We even got dressed up for the occasion!

Some things I remember:

  • The Wine List was actually a leather-bound binder/album with so many pages it had to be four or five inches thick
  • Lamb – it’s even better when prepared two ways instead of just one
  • Megan got to live the Princess Diaries moment with her second course of green apple sorbet
  • Caviar – delicious
  • The waiters lifted all four silver covers off of our plates at the same time, just like in the movies
  • Dessert… and barely having room to fit it in

GhostBusTours!!

For our first night in Dublin, Megan and I thought it would be fun to take a late-night ghost tour around town.  Little did we realize that it mostly consisted of sitting on a dark bus with covered windows listening to silly tales and jokes for two hours.  Oh, we also had water sprayed in our faces at one point; I was less than amused.  Occasionally we did get to peek out the windows at something of slight interest or get off the bus to investigate further.  I would not recommend anyone waste their time with this tour, but I suppose we had fun at least getting out of the hotel for a bit!

Renee is visiting this weekend, so I’ll keep today’s post short and sweet with a randomly selected photo:

This TV was very creepy... it knew my name!

Pipe Dreams

I’m not sure what this was all about, but they had this thing about water in Austria.  I’m not just talking about how they all drink mineral water (and finding still tap water in bottles is impossible).  They had posters and stuff about water everywhere.  Anyway, I’m sure there was a sign somewhere that read “Do not climb on this pipe thing,” but I couldn’t resist!
