I’ve been sporting the “creepy guy” moustache all week – I can’t wait for it to start filling in so it’s not in this awkward limbo state! Next week is going to be our first big push for fundraising at work. It’ll be exciting to see everyone sporting their Mo’s together and generating buzz around the office. Click here if you’d like to get in on the action and support our cause!
Last night I made my first ever batch of sugar cookies! They turned out kind of lousy, so next time I’ll be prepared with mom’s classic recipe. I used a moustache-shaped cookie cutter and I thought they turned out pretty cute:

Thanks to Renee for my awesome new mug, which features a number of different moustache styles and the caption “choose your moustache”! This was perfectly timed, as tomorrow our team is deciding on what style we will be sticking with for the rest of the month. Come Monday, everyone will be showing off their half-grown stache without the safety net of a goatee or beard!
Remember, you can support our team by making a donation here – you’ll be helping us fight cancer and hopefully catch up to Google’s fundraising efforts (they’ve really gotten a good lead on us, now). Here’s today’s snapshot:

“Studly” the Moustache says hello! For a donation (directly to my page, here) of just $21+ you can take over the naming rights to my moustache and publicly call it anything you want! Visit my Movember page to get started!
It’s not as obvious in the photo as in real life, but my Mo is definitely starting to show… and get lots of awkward glances. I’ll just have to tough it out one more week and then hopefully it’ll start to look more normal(ish). Er, I’ll just keep telling myself that anyway!
Well, we have had a successful first week, with over $1,000 raised already! We are a team of about 30 people, so we have a ways to go – but that’s a decent start! Of course, Google has still taken us over, so now it’s GAME ON!

I’m not feeling so hot today, so here’s a picture of some moustache cupcakes I made last week:

Today I bit the bullet and ditched my sad attempt at a goatee. It just wasn’t pretty. Now at least I’ve minimized the amount of awkwardness on my face, and I am ready to follow the official Movember rules a whole week ahead of schedule (we gave everyone a grace period to get started on growing).
I also learned a very important lesson today: do not lose your driver’s license during the month of Movember! Because I never updated my address with the DMV it was necessary for me to replace the license in-person… which means a new picture was taken… which means my new license will have a dirty upper lip!! Luckily it expires in a little more than a year – whew!
Google’s still playing with fire – and according to Smokey the Bear, only you can prevent fires!
